The Debate

I watched the VP debate. It was ok, but remembering this, any outcome that didn’t involve Edwards rolling across the stage and plunging a stake through Cheney’s heart was gonna be a letdown.

While discussing politics with my family recently, I hit upon what I think is a good analogy between the current administration and the one that was in power during the last bogged-down land war in Asia.

Bush is the Agnew to Cheney's Nixon.

I don't think I could have taken the first part, where Edwards is temporarily hypnotically seduced by Cheney, and lets Cheney drink his blood.

Maybe this belongs in the electoral vote predictor thread, but I'm pleased to note that more than 270 EV's worth of states are now leaning towards Kerry, for the first time since the Republican convention.

The latest polls are starting to show Kerry with a lead across the broader population base as well. And pretty much none of the news lately has been good for the administration. Admittedly, that's the vierwpoint of someone who is deliberately looking for anything to use as a weapon against the Bushies. But still, it looks like we just might be able to save this election.

=v= El Corazon de Cheney is featured in Sunday's La Cucaracha strip, but in another fine strip, Bob the Angry Flower, we get the first appearance of Cheney's Heart, which of course then goes on to become a serial killer.
