Kicks? Nosirree! / On Route Sixty-Three
=v= Congresscritter John Hostettler is launching a faith-based campaign against naming a highway with an immoral number:
"Every time I have been out in the public with an ‘I-69’ button on my lapel, teenagers point and snicker at it. I have had many ask me if they can have my button. I believe it is time to change the name of the highway. It is the moral thing to do."
What will they 86 next? Perhaps they'll try to ban rational numbers, which have a way of supporting global warming science and other inconvenient forms of heathenism so beloved by the reality-based community.
I bring bad tidings (or good, depending on your point of view).

=v= Well, I knew that, but hoaxes are no fun if you spoil them right away.

I can't tell if you think something like that isn't worth checking, or, given your statement above, you just prefer to waste readers' time making them check. Either way, no offense, it seems rather unhelpful (can I have twenty seconds back now, please?; I don't find falsehoods fun).

=v= While the Hoosier Gazette is not as well-known as The Onion, it's a simple matter of checking its top-level webpage to see what they're all about. I'm sorry the jest wasn't fun for you.
It must be said, though, that it's not a good idea to take anything at face value even if you're familiar with the newspaper it's printed in. Trust me, I've been in the news a lot this past year, and they generally get more wrong than right.
