My e-mail to the author of the NYT piece:

Amy Greenspan is a total psycho. “I don’t think I’d be with somebody that didn’t trust me to answer their phone because I’d wonder what they were hiding from me.” I don't think that she should be with someone whom she clearly doesn't trust, and whom she has to force "make a case" for his phone contact's raison d'être. That her boyfriend would even put up with that abuse makes him a very patient man, a co-dependent, or an idiot.

A pox on mismatched character sets.
