Emergency Field Repairs

Biking to Funk Aerobics last night, pushing off from a stop, my chain broke. But thanks to my Topeak Alien Tool I removed the bad link and restored the chain in just a few minutes. Of course, my hands were covered with grease, but home was between me and the Y, so I stopped there and thanks to undiluted Dr. Bronner's Peppermint Pure-Castile Soap got nearly all of it off, though, well, I'm glad I wasn't off to tea with the Duchess of Windsor. On the bright side, the link that broke is evidently the one that's been stiff for a while, as evidenced by the fact that I can freely pedal backwards for the first time in a long time. Considering I need to position the pedals right to push off from a stop on my recumbent, this is actually very useful.
