Save the blonde

Blondes an endangered species:

A study by experts in Germany suggests people with blonde hair are an endangered species and will become extinct by 2202.

Updated 10/3: This seems to be a hoax.

Like the Scottish dermatology guy, I doubt it. But we're doing our pale, blind part here: there's pretty much no chance our kids will be other than blondes when they're little, and there's a decent chance some level of blondness will persist.

Now aren't you all relieved. Think globally, act locally, people. Perpetuate those genes, even if they're not expressed. I have some really nice cousins and friends from college, perfectly good genetic material for you-all to help pass along, for the sake of genetic diversity, of course....

The article says nothing about why blondes would disappear. Recessive genes don't simply vanish from a population; look up the Hardy-Weinberg Law.

Blondes are recessive in competition with the darker colors, however will always survive and make an impact. In Turkey, product of the Ottoman empire stretching over three continents, blondic traits exist in its population. These elements are very recessive, but will not completely disappear as predicted by some experts.
